Mike began his EMS career in March 1996 as a New York State Certified First Responder. In June 1998, Mike graduated from TIMER and became a NYS EMT.

From June 1998 through May 2000, Mike worked full-time with various private ambulance companies across New Jersey. In May 2000, Mike successfully completed the EMT Intern Program at Richmond University Medical Center and began working at the hospital immediately. Mike remains employed as a part-time EMT at RUMC, where he serves as the coordinator for the EMT Intern Program.

In addition to RUMC, Mike also worked as an EMT for Cabrini Medical Center, Mount Sinai Medical Center, and Staten Island University Hospital.

Mike began teaching for TIMER as an Intern Instructor in the Fall of 1998, and became a NYS Certified Laboratory Instructor in March 2003. Mike has also been a certified Basic Life Support (BLS)Instructor for the American Heart Association (AHA) since 1998.

Academically, Mike received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Rhetoric and Public Address from Saint John’s University in 2003, and his Master of Public Administration degree in 2016 from the University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley.
